CAN ANYBODY BE A MILLIONAIRE?
A millionaire is a person who is very wealthy and has at least one million. Also according to Oxford Advance Learner's Dictionary (7th Edition), A millionaire is a person who has a million pounds, dollars, etc; a very rich person. When we talk about becoming a millionaire, we are talking about owning money that is ethically acquired, kept and shared. The millionaire I mean here is a person that can create wealth without harming or impoverishing others, one who will focus on adding value to others, and not reduce or take away from them.
Now, can anybody become a millionaire? Yes, it is possible for anybody to become a millionaire! This is because to become a millionaire does not depend on your background, neither does it depend on whether you made a first class in school, nor on how hard you work. It does not depend on luck or looks either, but on operation on of certain principles of wealth creation. Principles work for every one and under every circumstance, if correctly applied.
If everyone is taught these principles of wealth creation, they will realize that the most effective way to eradicate poverty is by learning and putting these principles to work.
There are two basic ingredients for wealth creation. These are: time and learning or skills acquisition. Everyone has time; everyone is entitled to the same basic 24hours a day, whether they are poor or rich. Though some tend to want to take back the hand of the clock, that will not stop time. And by learning, I mean one seeking the knowledge to become wealthy and applying it.
To become wealthy and remain so, it is pertinent to realize the following:
1. That time is money.
2. If we work we get rewarded for our efforts.
3. That any money we spend has an opportunity cost.
4. There is a limit to what we can spend.
5. That the gateway to financial freedom is to spend less than what we earn and to do this over a long period of time.
If everyone learn the financial skills to implement the above principles, then we all become millionaire. But if they are not applied, even if the Government through the poverty alleviation programme give everyone one million each, some would beg within 24hours, because they would have finished spending everything!
However it is a thing of joy that we have Internet, which is now the fastest way one can become a millionaire in a few months. There are many way of making it in the Internet.
